Chickens up production

Someone must have told the chickens that it’s Shrove Tuesday aka pancake day this week because they’ve very helpfully upped production to their pre winter levels of one egg a day. Over the winter period, especially when they decided to moult at the same time as the coldest cold snap in years, there were some weeks when we had no eggs at all. However, this week we are back to normal production levels with a daily egg. As the days lengthen they sometimes increase production even further to two a day.

Here are some pics of the ladies and their lovely eggs.

In other garden news; the daffodils are almost flowering

And there’s a new flower in the hedgerow border. I’ve started a thread in the gardening forum to see if anyone can identify it.
